No funding was
coming forth even with much prayer and fasting. I kept fulfilling
the unction I had to continually go around the building, located
at 81 N. Broadway, and pray. One day I saw someone moving in the
building so I stopped to ask some questions about it's current
use. I found out the building had been leased by a corporation for
another nightclub called "Fusion". These pictures
were of the building before the "Fusion" leased it. It
shows the front two story facade:
The side view
showing the three floors (it used to be an old dry cleaners). Can
you see where a "rainbow" kid would fall under the power
of God?
Finally, the rear
view in the alley:
As I asked the lady I met that day,
the club "manager", about what they did. She said they
were a "hip-hop" nightclub only open on Saturday nights.
I asked her if we could use the building on Sundays and other days
of the week for ministry purposes. She said I should put a
proposal together and give it to her to give to the night club
owner. This was in May of 2003. I did this immediately and sent it
to the address she gave me. Now I waited, and waited. Several
weeks went by, then another month. I had been calling and playing
phone tag with the manager but never had any response from the
owner. Finally we set up an appointment for a few weeks down the
road. When that day finally came, I received a phone call from the
club manager about an hour before I was to meet with him. Seems a
large tree had fallen on another one of his clubs in Greensboro
and he had to hurry to the site to oversee the repairs. She told
me we'd get back together has soon as he knew what his schedule
would be. Another few weeks went by. Then another month, by now it
was August 2003.
One day I felt another unction by
the Spirit to sit down and write another letter to the club owner.
This time I had an anointing to put in the letter some personal
things the Lord was showing me about the owner. I knew by the
Spirit he was being called of God to be in worship and that he had
a praying grandmother and knew the Lord when he was younger. I
sent this letter and in three days, on a Thursday morning, my
phone rang. It was the night club owner. The night club owner
stated his name was Marc Hubbard and that he was an ex-NFL
football player for the Charlotte Panthers. He also stated
everything I had said in the letter was true and that he knew he
had to call me right away. He stated he wanted to meet with me
right away and that he was bringing OJ Simpson into town that
weekend for a special "OJ party" at the club on Saturday
night. He said he wanted to meet me at 12:00 noon on that Sunday
so he could give me the keys to the building so I could do
whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted to the building. I did meet
him that Sunday, got the keys, learned about the alarm system and
the rest of the building quirks, thanked him, and began ministry
the very next day, Labor Day 2003. It was nine months after much
prayer and fasting we were in the building God showed us was to be
His.
